Rigid Ureteroscopy

Rigid ureteroscopy is an examination of the ureter using a fine telescope called a ureteroscope and is used to remove stones in the ureter. The rigid scope is inserted through the bladder into the ureter, the stones are broken up with a laser and extracted through the scope.

Rigid ureteroscopy is normally carried out under a general anaesthetic so that one of a number of possible procedures may be carried out in one of the patient's ureters depending on their urological condition.
